Questions & Answers

Question: How do I know I’m getting the best value for my money?

Answer: Most photographers will give you an unretouched digital download for your money. If you want the images retouched, there will be an additional charge. If you would like paper images you would need to pay for those in addition to what you have already paid. Making your investment far more expensive than the initial package price.

DonTomino Photography includes a beautiful Italian leather album with archival quality prints which are designed to last 100 years at a minimum.

Each package also comes with a number of digital downloads. All of our print images and digital downloads are fully retouched at no additional charge. Making our service your best possible value.

Question: What is the difference between archival quality paper and other prints?

Answer: Archival quality paper is a specially crafted paper made with high quality materials and techniques that ensure its longevity and durability, making it an ideal choice for preserving artwork and photographs for future generations. (If you would like a more detailed explanation, Google - ‘what is archival quality paper’).

Non archival quality paper is designed to last for a number of years before fading and discoloring sets in. I believe your wedding images should be preserved for future generations to enjoy. Even though the cost is more expensive than non-archival paper, DonTomino Photography uses nothing but archival quality paper and we do this at a very reasonable price. We pride ourselves as being the very best value for your money.

Question: How long have you been in business?

Answer: I have been a professional photographer for over 35 years. I am a Certified Master Craftsman, which is the highest level attainable in professional photography. You can rest comfortably on your wedding day knowing that there isn’t any situation pertaining to the photography that I would not be able to handle.

Question: Many photographers claim to be award winning; how do I know that I am getting a true award-winning photographer?

Answer: Photographers can receive certificates for participating in certain organizations. For example, The Knot will award their members with the Best of Wedding award for getting at least seven new reviews averaging 4.5+ within the calendar year. Although this is an accomplishment the recipient should be proud of, it is not a photographic competition award.

My awards differ in that they are won in photography competitions on a state, tri-state and national level. Wedding photographs and wedding albums are entered into competition where photographers compete directly against each other. A panel of judges are assigned to judge each entry, and one winner is picked to receive the first-place trophy, plaque or blue ribbon. I am proud to say that I am the Tri State area’s highest awarded wedding photographer. If you would like to know more about my awards and see photographs of the plaques, trophies and ribbons I have won, please go to the ‘About Us’ section on this website.

Question: What is your photography style?

Answer: Although photography is very important, I don’t feel it is the most important part of the day. I believe the most important part is the bride and groom having fun on their wedding day. My second photographer and I will capture all the images that you will treasure for the rest of your life, and we will do it in an unintrusive way. Our style is to use prompts to create natural looking images. I might ask the two of you to do something or say something to each other and then just record your reactions. This creates natural expressions and leads to some really fun moments.

Question: What is the process for selecting our wedding images.

Answer: Designing a wedding album can be very difficult and very time consuming. Don’t worry! You won’t have to do it alone. We will be there for you and help you every step of the way.

When you see your images for the first time, they will be put together in a digital wedding album for you to view. We will create a storybook with different chapters and sequences so you can relive your wedding day again and again. Your storybook album would then be created as a video presentation for you to view. There is no better way to see your images for the first time. We even provide a little box of Kleenex to dry those tears of joy! We will then view all the images one at a time so that you can make changes until the album is exactly the way you would like it to be.

It is so much easier to make changes to something that has already been created then it is to try and build something from scratch. After you are 100% satisfied with your selections, we will start the printing process for your album. This will take approximately two weeks for completion.
